  • Abstract
This paper presents an overview of a breakthrough in the development of radio system products. The Motorola Wireless Information Transfer System (WITS) product line has successfully passed field trials and has been selected by the US Navy as the new standard Digital Modular Radio (DMR). The DMR is a software reprogrammable, multi-band, multi-mode, multimedia communication system which meets the standards defined by the Software Defined Radio Forum and the US Department of Defense Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) objectives
