Abstract :
This paper presents space vector based minimum switching loss PWM algorithms for vector controlled induction motor drives. The conventional SVPWM algorithm divides the zero voltage vector time equally. But, in the space vector approach, unequal division of zero state time and active state times also possible. The proposed algorithms use the concept of division of zero and active state times. By varying the zero state time, various discontinuous PWM (DPWM) algorithms are generated and from which minimum switching loss PWM (MSLPWM) algorithm has been developed. By utilizing the concept of active state time division, various advanced DPWM (ADPWM) algorithms have developed from which advanced MSLPWM (AMSLPWM) algorithm has developed. Moreover, to reduce the complexity involved in the conventional space vector approach, the proposed algorithms have been developed by using the concept of imaginary switching times. To validate the proposed PWM algorithms, numerical simulation studies have been carried out and presented.
