Abstract
To reduce the steady state current ripple and complexity involved in the designing of a conventional PI type speed controller, this paper presents an advanced hybrid PWM (AHPWM) algorithm together with an ANFIS for vector controlled induction motor drive. Moreover, to reduce the complexity involved in the conventional space vector approach, the proposed AHPWM algorithm uses the concept of imaginary switching times. The proposed AHPWM algorithm is designed based on the notion of stator flux ripple. Modulation index and duty cycle dependent expression for rms value of the stator flux ripple over a sampling interval is calculated. The rms flux ripple characteristics are graphically illustrated, from which the proposed hybrid PWM algorithm is developed. To validate the proposed drive, simulation studies have been carried out and the results are presented.
