Abstract :
In this paper the implications of data skew in digital relaying are presented. Data skew refers to the fact that not all signals used by the relay are captured at the same time instant. This problem is especially important when the hardware is based on a single sample and hold circuit and the number of signals to sample is high. The differential relay for three-winding transformers is used as an illustrative example
