Abstract :
The two most attractive block truncation coding methods, full-band absolute moment block truncation coding (AMBTC) and subband AMBTC (SAMBTC), are exploited to compress SPOT images. Results clearly show that SAMBTC is superior to full-band AMBTC on achieving better imaging quality, especially at low bit rates, plus other attractive system merits
