Abstract
This paper focuses on the structure activity analysis of phenolic acid phenethyl esters on the human breast cancer cell MCF-7 via grey theory. First, the synthesis procedure of phenolic acid phenethyl esters and the cytotoxicity (cancer activity) testing experiments on the MCF-7 cancer cell are introduced. Next, the grey GM(1, N) model is used to calculate the biological activities to afford the correlation of the cancer activity and the functional group in the chemical structure. Furthermore, the most important functional group affecting the cytotoxicity to the MCF-7 cancer cell is found using the grey relation analysis. The results indicate the structure activity relationship and the characteristics of phenolic acid phenethyl esters.
