Abstract :
This paper presents an application of a weighted one-step-ahead algorithm for a thermal treatment furnace control. The proposed control law design procedure assures the controller the possibility to dominate both the transient behaviour by a weighting factor and that of steady state by introducing a double integral action. Some experiments were conducted to observe the ability of the controller in the temperature control of a furnace under a reference trajectory imposed by technologist. The experimental results prove that the controller is capable of giving the process a remarkable behaviour
