Abstract
In this paper, a novel approach has been presented for a Z-matrix building. In order to reduce the calculation time of Z-matrix building for large scale power systems an optimal elements selection method has been proposed. This method is based on Genetic Algorithm (GA). In this algorithm instead of crossover, a novel mutation technique has been presented. The proposed method has been tested on IEEE 14 bus benchmark. In this paper it is mathematically proved that an optimal selection starts with generator adding procedure.
