  • Abstract
Spine MRI plays a very important role in diagnosing various spinal diseases. Computer processing of spine MR images will make the diagnosis more accurate, consistent, time efficient. However, manual tracking the spinal structure is tedious, so automated tracking and segmentation of the spine are highly sirable. In this paper, we propose a novel method to locate all the disks through transforming the sagittal plane to the coronal plane. This method is especially effective for severe scoliosis patients. The efficiency of the proposed method is demonstrated by experiments using clinical MR images provided by College of Medicine, University of Cincinnati.
