Abstract :
This paper presents stacked antennas using a technique of fractal geometry. The antennas are designed to operate at the frequency of 2.45 GHz, which is used in application of wireless LAN. A single square patch antenna with stacking of a parasitic fractal patch, which is created by iterating a Narrow Pulse (NP) generator model at each side of normal square patch, is presented. The gain and fractional bandwidth can be improved approximately to 1.5 dBi and 6.5%, respectively, when comparing with a single square patch antenna with a stacked parasitic square patch. The properties of the antennas such as input impedance, gain, and radiation patterns are determined via numerical simulation and measurement.
