  • Abstract
The deterioration of received signal level, namely fading phenomenon, is enumerated in a factor of quality degradation in mobile communication technologies. The improvement of fading phenomenon is desired in the mobile communications for a long time. Authors have proposed a single-feed planar antenna which is composed of a planar monopole antenna(PMA) and a planar slot antenna(PSA), and analyzed the characteristics of it by using FDTD(Finite Difference Time Domain) method. In this paper, return loss characteristics and radiation patterns are considered by both sides of calculations and measurements. It is shown that the results of measurements and calculations correspond well, and characteristics of proposed antenna are combined those of the PMA with those of the PSA. These are described.
