Abstract
Industrial plant analysis and control systems design and set-up require an interactive study of power and signals. The use of a digital tool to analyse control systems effects on the plant, modelled as the studied system requires, changes and improves the technique design. In this paper, a basis for the development of a generalized digital simulator platform is analysed. the main goal is to build a new methodology to develop a flexible, expansible, modular and user-friendly software tool. To develop so ambitious a project, new techniques and advanced programming instruments have been used. These tools must simplify the development of the software simulator and help the plant designer in the system definition. The user friendliness is related to the plant and regulation description and to graphic output visualization. To use the simulation tools, the designer must know well the plant simulated and control system theory. For the developed simulator, the first test has been to project a processing line plant. All the machines used in the processing line have been modelled. In this paper, the methodology to design a processing line and the related power and control is described
