Abstract :
The present work focuses on the allocation of the active power transmission losses among the buses of a power system operating under pool condition. Two types of approaches, based on the principle of equivalent bilateral Exchanges (EBEs) and the network Z-bus matrix are presented and compared with each other. In the case of network congestions, a GA framework is suggested to deal with the optimal power flow problem. Numerical results obtained with the modified IEEE 14-bus power network are used to illustrate the main aspects of the loss allocations based on the application of the selected techniques.
