Abstract :
The choice of the current control technique is important for the achievement of a satisfactory performance level of the shunt active power filter (SAPF). The current control of three-phase three-wire SAPF by using a common fixed amplitude and frequency triangular wave for three-phase current cause erroneous operation since the current in any phase is dependent on the states of the other two phases. In this study, an improvement to the traditional triangular carrier method by adding phase shift is achieved. To show the effectiveness of the improved system, simulation results are presented by using SimPowerSystems toolbox of Matlab/Simulink.
