  • Abstract
Home automation and home network have been proposed more than 20 years. However they were not spread as widely as expected. After the Tohoku Earthquake in Japan, the smart grid, smart home has been focused for the purpose of reducing power consumption. In this paper, we would like to suggest a new type home network for power-saving. The basic idea for this network is to connect all of electrical appliance in home into a network and show an estimation of the power consumption on TV screen. To do this, we used a basic network unit named as Mutual Complement Network, and connected this unit in two layers structure. Also we proposed to display the power consumption of whole house on TV screen via a TV converter. Furthermore, we use a remote unit, which parameters are able to be adjusted according to electricity rate of the electrical power company. We believe that these measures are effective not only for convenience of power-saving, but also for reminding power-saving consciousness of people.
