Abstract :
This paper presents the development and operation of a 5 kW prototype inverter circuit for AC power supply applications. The DC voltage input can assume that of alternate or renewable energy outputs such as PV arrays and fuel-cells with some modifications in the control algorithm. The inverter has successfully been operated and is capable of generating an output voltage of 240 VAC steadily on normal operating condition at 5 kW load, as well as maintaining the output voltage in transient condition when a load change takes place from 500 W to 5 kW.
