  • Abstract
The paper deals with a small, two-pole, electronically-commutated DC motor with a moving rare earth NdFe permanent magnet and a core-less armature winding. The maximum output power is 100 W and the maximum permissible speed is 15000 rpm. The magnetic field distribution in the cross section of the motor has teen investigated using the finite element method. The steady-state load characteristics and transient characteristics for acceleration, deceleration, and reversal have been measured and calculated. The electronically-commutated DC NdFe motor is a high-performance motor
