Abstract
The Swing 100 is an SSI-R pacemaker (PM) driven by a gravimetric acceleration sensor able to detect body barycenter accelerations. The authors evaluated clinical reliability and effectiveness of this PM in 36 patients, submitted to PM implant (28 patients) or PM replacement (8 patients). A treadmill exercise stress test (EST) using the Bruce protocol, 24-hour electrocardiogram (ECG) Holter monitoring (HM) and tests of mechanical external interference were performed 1-3 months, after the PM implant. Rate trends during EST showed direct correlation between the increase of pacing rate and work load. Paced rate during the 24-hr HM showed a close temporal relation between pacing rate and physical activity
