Abstract :
A proposal for the construction of a directional coupler loaded with a transverse Bragg grating in the GaAs/AlGaAs MQW heterostructure is presented. The authors analyze the propagation of light within strip waveguides. Application of the third-order Bragg grating is analyzed. The geometrical properties of the device have been determined with special attention paid to ensuring the simplicity of the device manufacture.
