Abstract
In this paper, we apply the adaptive integral method (AIM) to the analysis of scattering and radiation for arbitrarily shaped 3D structures and calculate the capacitance matrix. The uniformity of the multipole moment approximation is revealed theoretically and numerically, that can guarantee the accuracy of AIM for capacitance computation of any structure. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the memory requirement and computational complexity of the present method are less than O(N/sup 1.5/) and O(N/sup 1.5/ log N) for 3D problems. The present method is efficient for capacitance computation for arbitrarily shaped 3D structures.
