Abstract :
Multirate signal processing is a burgeoning area of digital signal processing with a specialized set of problems. The paper is mainly addressed to the problem of functional description and optimization of digital systems, where more than one sampling rate is required. The authors consider the definitions, properties and graphical representations of involved operators. Extensions to cutset techniques for multirate systems are also presented
