Abstract :
The adaptive threshold according to differentiations (ATAD) algorithm proposed utilizes an adaptive threshold which is updated by the first and the second-order differentiations of the signal to compress ECG data. The nature of the signal can be traced and by compressing the higher-information signal regions (QRS complex) and the lower-information regions (isoelectric region, P and T waves and noise signal) in different ways, it optimizes the trade off between the reduction (CR) and information content of the signal (PRD). At the same time, the proposed algorithm is simple, fast and can be realized easily by microprocessors
