Abstract :
Presents evaluation method of indoor environment based on Rough Sets theory for one university library. According to subjective survey results from questionnaire about thermal environment, visual environment, aural environment, air quality environment and spatial environment of the university library, the decision tables are established for knowledge reduction, significances of eleven condition attributes on evaluation index of indoor environment are calculated and compared by using attribute reduction algorithm with discernibility matrices for the four room environment of the library, and the total indoor environment of the library is evaluated by determining each index total weights of the library indoor environment. By comparing the index total weights, the three factors of dissatisfaction with contaminated air, poor lighting and bad spatial allocation plan are the most important contributors to overall dissatisfaction evaluation, while the other three factors of dissatisfaction with draft, temperature, and cleanness are least important which may be reduced firstly to simplify evaluation system of the library.
