Abstract :
An adaptive array can control its own reception pattern. This feature is specially interesting when the location of the emitter is unknown, as happens with mobile communications. Algorithms based on temporal references decrease the efficiency of the communication systems. We present an optimal combiner driven by estimated spatial restrictions. To extract the necessary information directly from the received signals we propose to exploit the ciclostationary properties of the signal of interest. A modified version of the direct iteration method is also used to reduce the computational load of the algorithm. The presented technique exhibits fast convergence and low sensitivity to estimation errors
