Abstract :
Pattern design and print play an important role in the industry of printing and dyeing of chinaware, carpets etc. With the development of science and technology and the intensification of competition between corporations, it is necessary for corporations to design patterns concurrently and integratively to shorten the design cycle, lower the cost and improve the quality. Advanced agents, CSCW and Web technology are used in the Pattern Data Management System in a cooperative environment that supplies a good working environment for concurrent design. A cooperative mechanism is implemented by an agent to provide support for several users to design patterns concurrently in this system. The agent can provide not only pattern data access but also cooperating design services for pattern designers. Of course, users can also browse, query and manage pattern data with the services provided by the agent through Web browsers such as IE and Netscape
