Abstract
A nonlinear voltage controller is presented for position tracking of a permanent magnet stepper motor. The controller uses an integrator backstepping approach in conjunction with nonlinear observers to produce global exponential position tracking based solely on position measurements. Experimental results are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy
