Abstract :
This paper evaluates the end-to-end performance of a CDMA based static multi-hop wireless sensor network (WSN) in shadowed environment with correlated interferers. Two different information delivery mechanisms are studied using regenerative relays with or without error correction capability. Optimal packet sizes, based on energy efficiency, are estimated for both schemes under several network conditions and node densities. An interference model for multi hop is developed with two kinds of interferers; Multiple Access Interference (MAI) and Node Interference (NI). Energy requirements for successful transmission of file from source to sink using different mechanisms with infinite ARQ per packet are investigated for optimal packet based and other fixed size packet based schemes using a suitable energy model. The energy level performances of two schemes using optimal packet length are compared.
