Abstract :
The present paper has described the impact of mother wavelet on the performance of Wavelet-Neural network (WNN) based power transformer protection scheme. In this scheme of protection Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) has been used as signal processing tool. While analyzing the signal with Wavelet Transform proper selection of the mother wavelet is necessary, this greatly affects the performance of whole protection scheme. The presented results clearly proved that the selection of mother wavelet has shown really great impact on the performance of transformer protection.
