  • Abstract
The paper reports on ongoing research concerning the construction of a legal database named Agora-Lex. The aim of Agora-Lex is to develop a highly technological system for accessing legislation provided by the Belgian federal government. The Agora-Lex project develops a model and prototype for managing historical versions of legislation. In addition, it provides recommendations for data identification that would make it possible to harmonise the access to the legislative data of different federal institutions and to exchange data between them. The authors focus upon the relational database model that underlies the management of the historical versions of legislation and upon a highly needed intelligent interface for easy maintenance of the data
