Abstract :
Data privacy law is a very complex matter. It is often assessed to be a non-tariff barrier to commercial transactions. Transparency in data privacy law by means of information technology clarifies the countervailing principles and assists to meet the legal conditions of this law in practice. The DAPRO information system supports decision makers in solving problems related to the collection, storage and dissemination of personal data. Another main area of application of the system is legal training. Users benefit from the electronic accessibility of structured data protection rules of the EU and certain member states, from the easy access to additional information on data protection (legal commentaries; specialized papers; documents; literature; links) and from decision support by using interactive checklists
