Abstract
In order to implement a process control system effectively, an extensive and complete knowledge about process design is indispensable. Knowledge information and structures of production plants and their processes are very complex. The complexity can be reduced by employing suitable models describing mass, energy and information flow. These models are created by using architectural principles in conjunction with information techniques
