Abstract :
The enormous development of a new type of organization-the so-called virtual organization-over the last few years is the major motivation to start conceptual work of the SPID-ER model. The main goal is to connect the-mostly well-organized-internal project oriented workflows of an individual organization with an overall external workflow structure, which results in a special focus on inter-organizational business processes. The process of definition, standardization and realization of basic project processes, is defined as standardized workflows and concretized with the help of information modeling and message modeling results in the SPID-ER model (standardized project interchange data-extended entity relationship model) with the three connected layers which are SPID-ER workflows, SPID extended ER-model and SPID messages
