Abstract :
A printed hexagonal monopole antenna fed by a coplanar wave-guide has been presented for ultra wide bandwidth. Parametric study of hexagonal configuration with vertex feed arrangement has been carried out to study the effect of feed gap on bandwidth. Experiments have been performed to measure, bandwidth and radiation patterns of this printed monopole antenna, which are in agreement with the simulated results. A vertex fed hexagonal monopole antenna gives ultra wide impedance bandwidth ratio of 15.3:1 for voltage standing wave ratio of 2:1.
