Abstract :
A simulation program to design a stand-alone photovoltaic (SAPV) power/load system combining a PV array, storage battery, motors, pumps, power inverter, reverse osmosis modules, and loads has been developed to analyze system operation characteristics and optimization of system cost and control subsystems. A simulation model was used to represent an actual system. Simulation was executed every 15 min for a year. Output data for operation characteristics were observed on a CRT that shows a process flow diagram and calculated figures of many process values. Results of the simulation were compared to operational data from the plant. The simulation model achieved acceptable levels of accuracy.
