Abstract :
An algicidal bacterium numbered FDD1 caused rapid cell lysis of Microcystis aeruginosa. It was identified as Brevibacillus sp. according to physiological identification and the 16S rDNA sequence analysis. Its algae-lysing characteristics were studied. The results showed that the strain FDD1 had pronounced algicidal effects and the temperature, pH and illumination could influence the algicidal efficiency. Also, it lysed the algae cells not directly but by secreting metabolites.
