Abstract :
A model-based evaluation environment for fuzzy control system design is presented, interconnecting BLOCKSIM, a block oriented modelling and simulation package, to the fuzzy control design system of DESys (a distributed expert system shell). The designed fuzzy control system can be directly inserted as a super block in BLOCKSIM and evaluated by parallel execution of the nonlinear model and the fuzzy control system. The combination of block oriented modelling and simulation with the expert system results in faster development cycles and gains deeper insight into the system under consideration. The possibility to include hardware in the loop extends the method to systems with unknown model
