Abstract
With the experience of dozens of site VSWR validation measurements in SAC´s and FAR´s, special attention should be focused on the influence of the receiving antenna. Since the radiation pattern is determined in the standard and the used antennas (POD16 & POD618) are verified by measurements, the characteristic of the available receive antennas were investigated in detail at the band limits (1 GHz, 6 GHz, 18 GHz). The radiation pattern will be presented and analysed regarding the influence on site VSWR, test volume size and measurement uncertainty. Also, the influences of coupling effects between receive antennas and masts were analysed during site VSWR testing.
