  • Abstract
The development of a crystal growth method based on the spin cast method is presented. The characteristics of silicon sheets produced by this method and their properties when incorporated into solar cells are also discussed. A mold for the silicon sheet is attached to the end of a quartz crucible, and the melt is then injected into the mold. Using an unloader shift, unseeded ribbon sheet can be continuously pulled through the mold´s cavity. The ribbon is 0.5 mm thick and 25 mm or 100 mm wide. The growth rate is about 400 mm/min. The average grain size is 2-3 mm. It has a columnar structure, and its solar cell efficiency is about 10.9% (25*25 mm, 0.5 mm, AM1.5, 100 mW/cm2).
