Abstract
The finite difference time domain (FDTD) method for solving ionosphere propagation of microwave pulse will waste great time and memory. In this paper, the pseudo-spectral time domain (PSTD) algorithm is applied to simulate propagation of microwave pulse in each layer of ionosphere, which is used to solve the equations of cold plasma. Compared to the FDTD method, the PSTD algorithm is much efficiency. The excitation source is applied to eliminate Gibbs phenomenon, which is initially distributed in the entire computational space. The results are significance to propagation of microwave pulse in ionosphere.
