Abstract
In this paper, we propose a post-processing method to estimate the scattering effect in SPCET. The estimation is performed in the reconstructed image. An efficient filtered backprojection algorithm is used to reconstruct the image. A two-dimensional scatter point spread function (2D-PSF) in the image domain is proposed and obtained from a point source object and a non-uniform attenuation map in an efficient way. The estimated 2D-PSF is compared with the results from the Monte Carlo simulations. The immediate application of this 2D-PSF is in image deblurring to compensate for the scattering effect.
