Abstract :
Turbo codes have been adopted as channel codes in wireless communication standards. However turbo decoder is hard to implement due to its complicated scheme. And the iterative decoding process usually causes a large delay which dissatisfies requirements of real time. Several key points of implementing a decoder for long term evolution (LTE) turbo codes on the EVM6474 (product of TI) are presented in the paper. And some approaches for optimizing the C code of the decoder have been taken in code composer studio (CCS). After these optimizations, the decoder can work 99.34% faster.
