Abstract
Algorithms for discrete optimization of operational modes of reactive power sources for minimizing energy losses in industrial power systems while meeting different technical restrictions are proposed. These algorithms are based on a combination of formal and informal procedures and allow one to obtain quasioptimal solutions after a small number of steps that ensures the possibility to use them for the real time control of reactive power sources. The algorithms are intended to be implemented to measuring, monitoring, and control systems which are already in commercial production
