Abstract
A study using a signal processing device and a method developed by the authors assesses the clinical significance of late potentials recorded on the averaged unfiltered and filtered electrocardiograms for the identification of patients at risk for ventricular tachyarrhythmias. The complementary information offered by the averaged unfiltered, averaged and filtered, and unaveraged highly amplified electrocardiogram in the identification, characterization, and follow-up of ventricular late potentials is also assessed
