Abstract
A novel technique for increasing the detection range of a fully passive multiresonator based chipless RFID tag has been proposed using the diversity technique at the reader receiver. Analysis is carried out to find the signal to noise ratio at the output of the diversity receiver using maximal ratio combining (MRC) technique. Bit error rate (BER) is analyzed for Rayleigh fading over the channel. The analyzed approach gives a clear insight regarding the interrelationship between BER, detection ranges and reader received power with the application of receiver diversity and has given improved performance in detecting tag at a comparatively longer distance in different non line of sight (NLOS) environment.
