  • Abstract
In this paper, a fifth-order system model, generated using a thermoelectric analogy, is proposed for modelling the thermal dynamics of a natural oil, natural air (ONAN) and forced oil, forced air (OFAF) cooled power transformer. A genetic algorithm is then utilised, to identify the thermal model parameters, based on a few on-site measurements. Performance results of the thermoelectric model are presented with a comparison of the outcome from a recursive artificial neural network procedure.
