Abstract :
Capacitor Charging Power Supply(CCPS) of Power Conditioning System(PCS) for Laser Nuclear Fusion is an impactive, time-varying and non-linear load. The CCPS generates a large number of harmonics during the course of its work. The harmonics affect the power quality, power efficiency and stability of power system, and it will deteriorate the operation characteristics of Power Conditioning System, especially when many power units are working at the same time. Based on the analysis of its working process and characteristics, the harmonic equivalent circuit model of CCPS of PCS during its charging stage is established firstly, then some characteristics and harmonics under variable load are analysed and calculated, including the power factor and total harmonic distortion(THD). The L-C filter at direct current(DC) side is an important factor that influences the power factor and THD, how to determine its parameters is also presented. Finally, above harmonic analyses are proved to be agreed with the test and practical operation, and the way to improve characteristics is also feasible and effective within a certain range.
