Abstract :
A novel implementation of combining lower-and higher-order basis functions (LHOBF) is presented. Analysis of antennas in complex environment or mounted on large platform is a popular problem in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) study. Lower-order basis functions (LOBF) can well describe the small features of antenna, which are defined on segments, triangles and wire-surface junctions; however, a great number of unknowns yielded as result. Higher-order basis functions (HOBF) with NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline) model are efficient to model the complex environment or large platform with fewer unknowns and good accuracy, but it´s not convenient to model the small feature of antennas. So hybrid LHOBF takes the advantages of the LOBF and HOBF, which can provides a feasible way to simulate antennas with complex environment or large platform much accurately, meanwhile, the number of unknowns is greatly reduced.
