Abstract :
Fire is a great threat to human life and social security. The traditional fire detection method doesn´t work well. In recent years, with the development of computer and the digital image processing technology video fire detection system will become a strong trend. This paper designs a video fire detection system on FPGA, using the edge detection algorithm of area absolute deviation, RGB judgment rule and absolute deviation algorithm of suspected fire area average gray value. We realize the fire detection algorithm on FPGA, which satisfies the requirement of real-time performance and make the detection more accurate. We use C code for fast Fourier transform in Nios II IDE, making the design more flexible.
