Abstract
A systolic architecture, called systolic arrays with tags input (SATIN), is proposed. Not only data but also tags are pumped into the SATIN. The SATIN can efficiently solve the stored-I/O and the time-variant functions problems often existing in conventional systolic arrays. For systematically designing a SATIN, the dependence-graph approach has to be extended to incorporate the tag-assignment procedure. Two design examples, matrix-matrix multiplication and matrix transpose, are used to illustrate this design method
