Abstract
Through SOLAR 2000, the US Department of Energy´s (DOEs) Office of Solar Energy Conversion (OSEC) proposes a strategy to accelerate power sector adoption of biomass electric, photovoltaic, and solar thermal electric technologies. This strategy is based on a partnership with key groups in the field, including the US solar electric industry, regulators, and federal and state agencies. SOLAR 2000 will facilitate the development of the US industrial and technological base to provide proven world-class products for a range of electric sector needs, while concurrently conditioning users to enhance their ability to identify, evaluate, and adopt these technologies as they become viable for particular applications
